A rough economy and the increasing popularity of mobile phones has reversed a 14 year decline in coupon redemption in the United States. Driving this growth is paperless distribution and frugal consumer habits changing in response to the recession. Not all people have smart phones nor can they afford them and if they can well maybe they dont need to coupon as much as the rest of us on very limited budgets. I can only speak for mtself but I do not own a current mobile device in fact mine is an old model and has no gadgets on it. phone only so if companies do end up doign this they will be hurting people who really rely on coupons to put good food on the table for their familes and children. Once again the little man is going to be hurt by this while the rich get richer.
